San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch addressed the crowd of fans on hand for Monday morning's training camp practice at the SAP Performance Facility and asked for a moment of silence for the victims of the Gilroy shooting on Sunday evening.
Gilroy is fewer than 40 miles down the road from Levi's Stadium and the team's headquarters in Santa Clara. Below is a video of Lynch, courtesy of Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.

"We started today with a moment of silence for the folks down in Gilroy, and everyone affected by the horrific tragedy," Lynch told 49ers.com reporter Keiana Martin during the team's live look-in. "I heard about that as I was going home last night. I think even in a time like this where you're so excited in training camp, and the expectations of a new season, putting pads on for the first day, football players are people too. They have families.
"So Kyle (Shanahan) did a tremendous job addressing our team this morning, and we felt like it was appropriate to do that with our fans. I know this whole community is hurting. We offer up our condolences, our prayers, and we have your backs."
