49ers in the playoffs or Patriots in another Super Bowl? Which happens first?

The New England Patriots have appeared in four of the last five Super Bowls and won three of those matchups. Whether you are a fan of the team or tired of its unparalleled success in recent years, it's hard not to acknowledge the success head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady have brought to the organization.

The San Francisco 49ers, meanwhile, are trying to build something sustainable themselves. The duo of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch is 10-22 over the past two seasons but had to endure a massive roster overhaul which left very few players from the previous regime. Many are expecting a turnaround on the horizon while others feel more struggles might be on the way.

It's tough to bet against the Patriots. They are a safe wager to at least be in the conversation as a Super Bowl contender no matter what happens during the offseason or early on during the regular season. The team just finds a way to win down the stretch.

"Good Morning Football" on Thursday posed the question of which will occur first: The 49ers make the playoffs or the Patriots return to the Super Bowl? Kay Adams and guest hosts Kimberly Jones and DeAngelo Hall found it tough to bet against Brady and Belichick.

"For me, it has more to do with the division that the 49ers are in, and trying to make the playoffs, and just the uphill battle that they have," said Hall. "And [Jimmy Garoppolo] having not played a lot of football the last — I feel like two years with the injury. He just doesn't quite look like who we thought we we're going to see."

While Jones agreed with the Patriots being the safer bet, Adams noted that we can't predict what happens in the NFC West.

"It could happen (49ers make the playoffs) because they're fully healthy right now, this Niners team," she said. "And their defense, I love."

49ers assistant coach also suffered torn Achilles during Super Bowl

By David Bonilla

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw is currently rehabilitating after undergoing surgery for the torn Achilles he sustained last month during Super Bowl 58. He'll have a partner in his recovery, as he wasn't the only member of the team to suffer that specific injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters on Tuesday morning at the NFL owners meetings and revealed that defensive backs coach Daniel Bullocks also sustained a torn Achilles during the game. "[It occurred] about five minutes after Dre's," Shanahan told reporters. "I think it was when [S] Ji'Ayir [Brown] got the interception, he just jumped up and cheered, very similar to Dre's, and his Achilles went too." Bullocks remained on the sideline and continued coaching throughout the

By David Bonilla

Three NFL Media analysts have recently released their mock drafts, projecting the potential moves of each team in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The San Francisco 49ers hold the No. 31 overall pick, marking their first Round 1 selection since 2021. The latest mock draft comes from Charles Davis, who has San Francisco addressing the offensive line, strengthening a unit that showed inconsistency last season. Davis predicts the 49ers will choose former Oklahoma tackle Tyler Guyton with their first selection. "The 49ers' offense will flourish as long as HC Kyle Shanahan is diagramming plays, and this agile former tight end has a chance to plug in
