San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman hasn't been too vocal on the potential of his team landing Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. That didn't change on Thursday night when TMZ tried to get a quote out of him regarding the possibility of the 49ers landing the talented receiver.
"Go wherever it makes him happy," was Sherman's brief message to Brown.
Sherman was also asked about his own time in San Francisco by the TMZ reporter who claimed to be a Seattle Seahawks fan.
"So far, so good," he responded.
Sherman just finished his first season with the 49ers. He signed with the team in March of 2017 after seven seasons in Seattle.
Sherman was asked after the season about the 49ers being aggressive this offseason.
"I'd like them to be smart and get us better," Sherman told reporters. "Obviously, I don't make any decisions or call any shots, but I'm sure that Kyle and John and going to do their due diligence on everybody and put us in a better position than we have been this year."
As for Brown, he has made it clear that he wants out of Pittsburgh despite three years remaining on his contract. He has also hinted at a desire to play in San Francisco.
Brown had a Twitter exchange with San Francisco tight end George Kittle on New Year's Eve. Several 49ers players have since hinted that they would welcome Brown to their locker room should the team trade for him.
Then, of course, there was Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice confirming Brown wants to play in San Francisco after a conversation with the frustrated receiver.
"Yeah, he wants to come here really bad," Rice said during an interview on 95.7 The Game. "He's talking about running the hill with me, doing all that, and just working out, just picking my brain."
Trade talks involving Brown could heat up next month at the NFL Scouting Combine when team executives from around the league gather to get a glimpse of the incoming rookie class.
