The 49ers hosted the Paradise High School football team on November 12 as San Francisco hosted the New York Giants at Levi's Stadium. The high school squad's hometown was devastated by the Northern California wildfire and had to forfeit its playoff game as a result of the damage.
The high school football team was greeted by general manager John Lynch and stood beside 49ers players during the national anthem.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan surprised Paradise High School head coach Rick Prinz, a lifelong 49ers fan, this week with two tickets and all expenses paid to Super Bowl 53 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3.
"You deserve it," Shanahan told Prinz. "What you guys have been through this year, I hope you enjoy it. I wish you could go there and watch us. If we're there next year, I'll make sure that you go again."
You can watch the exchange between Shanahan and Prinz below, which was provided by the 49ers.
