San Francisco 49ers defensive back D.J. Reed Jr. is one of five players nominated for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week Award.

Reed registered 12 tackles along with the first sack and forced fumble of his career during Sunday's 20-14 victory over the Denver Broncos.

The other award nominees are New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard, and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Robert Foster.

Reed has appeared in 12 games with one start this season. He has 30 combined tackles during his rookie campaign to go along with his sack and forced fumble from Sunday.

Wide receiver Dante Pettis was nominated for the award last week, but the honor ended up going to running back Phillip Lindsay of the Denver Broncos.
