The San Francisco 49ers are signing long snapper Colin Holba, according to a report from Matt Barrows of The Athletic.

The 49ers were in need of a long snapper after the NFL suspended Kyle Nelson 10 games for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. He was in the final year of his contract and scheduled to become a free agent in March.
The suspension was of the 10-game variety because this was Nelson's second violation. The first took place during his rookie year in 2011.
Holba was one of five long snappers who worked out for the 49ers on November 26. Another of those players was veteran and former Oakland Raiders long snapper Jon Condo, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday.
The Pittsburgh Steelers made Holba a sixth-round draft pick out of Louisville in 2017. He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 14, 2017, and then waived on June 14 of this year. Holba has been playing for the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football since.
