As expected, the October 21 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams has been flexed out of Sunday night and will be moved to a 1:25 p.m. PT kickoff. The game is being replaced by the matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs, according to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Week 7, Oct. 21, the 4-1 Bengals and 5-0 Chiefs are being flexed to Sunday night, per source. Rams-49ers, which was scheduled for that night, will be moved to 4:25 pm. So it'll be two straight Sunday night games for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Bengals lone SNF appearance.
The 49ers vs. Rams game will be televised on CBS, according to an announcement by the NFL. The October 21 matchup will feature the unveiling of statues at Levi's Stadium depicting "The Catch" in honor of the late Dwight Clark.
Expectations were high for San Francisco heading into the 2018 season. Unfortunately, injuries have devastated the roster and the team started the season 1-4 minus the primetime appeal of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who was lost for the season with a torn ACL.
