49ers-Cardinals Injury Report: Richard Sherman, Mike McGlinchey, and Weston Richburg return to practice

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 5 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Injury notes from Thursday:

  • CB Richard Sherman returned to practice after missing this past Sunday's game against the Chargers. He hopes to play against the Cardinals. "I've been off for a while," Sherman told reporters on Thursday. "Fresh legs program."
  • WR Marquise Goodwin and C Weston Richburg returned to practice after sitting out Wednesday's session.
  • T Mike McGlinchey had an MRI on Monday and everything in his knee looked fine, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. He expects to play on Sunday.
  • T Joe Staley was seen working with trainers on a side field during practice.

It was just two short years ago that WR Deebo Samuel requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers prior to draft day, only for cooler heads to prevail and eventually agree to a new deal. Now, it's WR Brandon Aiyuk's turn to try and get paid and rumors surfaced over the weekend that he too would request to be dealt. Brandon Aiyuk isn't the only San Francisco 49ers player being mentioned in trade chatter around the NFL. According to Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle, several teams are also reaching out to inquire about the availability of wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Brandon Aiyuk's agent denies report of Steelers 'aggressively pursuing' the 49ers receiver

On Wednesday, Chat Sports contributor Chase Senior reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were "aggressively pursuing" San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. He further stated that the Steelers are confident they can finalize a deal for the star player. REPORTS: The Pittsburgh Steelers are aggressively pursuing a Brandon Aiyuk trade and the Steelers would be "surprised" if they don't land Aiyuk. Of note: Pittsburgh has the 20th overall pick. The Niners could look at that as equal value for Aiyuk if they can't get a deal done.…
