The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 4 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles, California.

The 49ers secondary is the biggest concern heading into the game. If Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) is unable to play, it will likely feature Ahkello Witherspoon and Jimmy Ward as the cornerbacks with Adrian Colbert and Antone Exum as the safeties. Cornerback Richard Sherman (calf) has been ruled out while Tartt is doubtful. Colbert (hip) is listed as questionable.

Guard Mike Person did not appear on Friday's injury report. Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if he is "back to normal."

"It depends on what you consider normal, but he's good to go," he responded.

Matt Breida (knee) is listed as questionable. Shanahan said the running back had been up and down during practices this week and the team will see how he feels on Sunday before determining his status.

"He got a little bit more yesterday," he said. "We kept him limited today. Just trying to manage the wear and tear. But questionable is better than doubtful so hoping it works out."

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Chargers. Also included are Friday's practice participation reports, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

7-round mock draft: 49ers trade up to fortify secondary

By David Bonilla
Apr 19

The San Francisco 49ers first selection in next week's draft comes at No. 31 overall. However, NFL Media analyst Chad Reuter doesn't have the Bay Area team remaining at that spot in the first round. In his seven-round mock draft, he envisions the 49ers striking a deal with the Green Bay Packers to move up six spots to No. 25 overall, where they select former Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry. Reuter notes, "Whether it's for a cornerback like McKinstry, an offensive lineman or a receiver, the 49ers could very well give up a mid-round pick to acquire one of the few missing pieces on an otherwise potent roster." The rest of the mock draft reveals at least part of the

Despite initial reports, two draft prospects who were set to visit the San Francisco 49ers ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft ultimately did not meet with the team. Matt Barrows of The Athletic revealed that former USC wide receiver Brenden Rice and former Oregon safety Jamal Hill didn't end up visiting the Bay Area organization. Barrows wrote, "Meanwhile, a report in March indicated that USC receiver Brenden Rice, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, would visit the 49ers, but he didn't end up coming, according to two league sources." On Wednesday, Chat Sports contributor Chase Senior reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were "aggressively pursuing" San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. He further stated that the Steelers are confident they can finalize a deal for the star player. REPORTS: The Pittsburgh Steelers are aggressively pursuing a Brandon Aiyuk trade and the Steelers would be "surprised" if they don't land Aiyuk. Of note: Pittsburgh has the 20th overall pick.
