The San Francisco 49ers were held out of the end zone in last week's win over the Chicago Bears. That hasn't been the case against the Houston Texans. Running back Carlos Hyde was the first to get into the end zone on a two-yard run in the second quarter.
Now, Jimmy Garoppolo has his first touchdown pass since being named the 49ers' starting quarterback. The score concluded a six-play, 85-yard drive and, following a successful extra point, gave the 49ers a 23-16 lead late in the third quarter.
Garoppolo had a touchdown pass two weeks ago in the closing seconds against the Seattle Seahawks but did so after going in for an injured C.J. Beathard. He was named the 49ers' starting quarterback two days later.
