The San Francisco 49ers have announced the signings of cornerback Greg Mabin and tight end Cole Wick to the team's practice squad. To make room on the practice squad, the team has released defensive back Jarnor Jones.
Mabin entered the league with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa on May 1. Following his release seven days later, he was signed by the Bills on June 1 and then waived on September 12 before joining Buffalo's practice squad. Mabin was promoted to the active roster on October 7 and made his NFL debut during Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals and had one pass defensed. He was waived on Monday.
Wick entered the league with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Incarnate Word (Tex.) on May 6, 2016. He appeared in six games last season and had two receptions for 18 yards before being placed on injured reserve. He was signed to the Lions' practice squad on September 3 and then released three days later.
