The San Francisco 49ers are set to play the Indianapolis Colts. The 49ers are still seeking their first win of the season while the Colts seek their second. The game will be covered here, on Facebook, and Twitter by writer Bret Rumbeck (@brumbeck).
Below are some quick pregame 49ers notes:
Carlos Hyde contract talks
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported Sunday morning that the 49ers are trying to work on a contract extension for running back Carlos Hyde.
"Finding a comparable player to Hyde in negotiations could be tough," writes LaCanfora, "and Hyde missed 14 games due to injury in his first three seasons as well, making an assessment difficult. But sources said new general manager John Lynch, who did not draft Hyde but thinks highly of his ability, would like to extend his contract and has been making attempts to do as much."

Ahkello Witherspoon and Pita Taumoepenu's debut
The 49ers released their list of inactives against the Colts and Ahkello Witherspoon was not among them. That means the rookie cornerback, who was a third-round pick in April, is set to make his regular season debut with the 49ers.
"Witherspoon's contributions in his first game could come solely on special teams with Dontae Johnon and Rashard Robinson remaining as the starters," writes Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Also active and suited up is rookie edge defender Pita Taumoepenu, who was a sixth-round pick by the 49ers.
Marquise Goodwin ready to go
After suffering a concussion against the Arizona Cardinals last week and being in the concussion protocol this week, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin appears set to play against the Colts.
Goodwin did not appear on the game's list of inactive players after being listed as questionable on Friday.
