Originally waived by the 49ers on July 31, Johnson cleared waivers and reverted back to the team the next day but was placed on injured reserve due to a torn hamstring.
Johnson was originally signed by the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 8. He played college football at Georgia Southern. During his five-year career with the Eagles, Johnson played in 44 games, started 35, and registered 92 receptions for 1,377 yards and six touchdowns.
