While the date has been known for months now, NFLPlayers.com reports the San Francisco 49ers will open training camp July 28. The team will hold camp at the 49ers' Complex in Santa Clara, California. The real question is when the open practice sessions for fans will be held. 49ers.com says that they will release those exact dates and times in July.

49ers Inside Training Camp on NFL Network, the show covering individual team practice sessions, will air on July 31.

49ers 2020 16-Player Practice Squad Tracker

NFL teams are allowed to sign players to their practice squads starting Sunday at 10 a.m. PT. This is following the 9 a.m. PT deadline to claim a player off of waivers. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL is allowing each team to carry up to six players with an unlimited amount of NFL experience. Each week during the regular season, teams can protect up to four practice squad players, preventing other teams from signing them to an active roster.
