This morning, he placed much of the blame for the result on those that failed to vote and yesterday, placed plenty on blame on those that voted for a third party candidate.

The topic has been discussed at length. When should it happen? How should it happen? Most of the quarterback discussion is done with an outside perspective. This week, Rice joined the 49ers Talk podcast to share the behind-the-scenes perspective and what a quarterback transition is like for players. "It's kind of hard to

Another week, another close loss, and another game with multiple missed opportunities for the 49ers. It's been the same narrative during the 49ers' current three-game losing streak, and Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals now puts the team at 2-3 on the season as it heads into its bye week. Huge news came Monday afternoon, as Kyle Shanahan noted that rookie quarterback Trey Lance suffered a left knee sprain and will be out for 1-2 weeks, leaving Nate Sudfeld as the only healthy quarterback currently on the roster. But, we'll get to the future later. First, let's break down Sunday's loss with three areas of needed improvement and four positives that came out of the game. Joe Staley: Jimmy Garoppolo will start, but 49ers are more exciting with Trey Lance

By Marc Adams

"I think he made his decision before the season even started," Staley said on the Papa & Lund show. "If Jimmy's healthy, he's going to be our quarterback this year. They want to use it as a red-shirt year, almost, for Trey this season. I was encouraged." That seemed to be the plan in the offseason, to have Lance sit and learn. Even after the game on Sunday, Kyle Shanahan continued to hold his ground that
