How did San Francisco 49ers players react to the presidential election as it occurred? Torrey Smith, as expected, was by far the most vocal as he shared his opinions. This morning, he placed much of the blame for the result on those that failed to vote and yesterday, placed plenty on blame on those that voted for a third party candidate.

Levi's Stadium will not host fans for 49ers-Eagles, will serve as a voting center for November election

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but Levi's Stadium will not host fans for Sunday's game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN. The stadium didn't host fans for the team's season opener against the Arizona Cardinals on September 13 due to continued concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. That didn't rule out fans attending future games, though. The 49ers will continue to have a dialogue with state and Santa Clara County officials, and in accordance with public health guidelines, to determine when fans can return to Levi's

49ers eager to get back to work after loss to Cardinals, says Mike McGlinchey

The San Francisco 49ers entered the offseason motivated by February's Super Bowl defeat. Maybe that wasn't enough because the team gained some extra motivation the hard way on Sunday after the Arizona Cardinals pulled off the upset 24-20 win at Levi's Stadium. The loss forces San Francisco to play catchup with the rest of the division. It is the only NFC West squad that suffered a defeat during Week 1. The 49ers are back to work this week and beginning preparations for their two-game road trip to the East Coast, where they will face the New York Jets and New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in back-to-back weekends. 49ers placing Richard Sherman on short-term injured reserve due to calf strain

The San Francisco 49ers are placing cornerback Richard Sherman on short-term injured reserve, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. That means missing at least the next three games. While Garafolo didn't have the specifics of the injury, merely noting that it was a "leg issue," his colleague, Ian Rapoport later reported that Sherman suffered a calf strain, which requires "a few weeks of rest and rehab."
