The 49ers have lost two straight. No San Francisco wide receiver had more than three catches in either of those losses. The defense has given up 644 passing yards in the past two games and cornerback Jimmie Ward is week-to-week with a quad injury. He is very likely to miss Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Wide receiver Torrey Smith seemed to aggravate his ankle, but it did not seem serious. Some help in those areas may be needed.
The 49ers signed WR/KR Keshawn Martin today – and Lovett and Clark continue to wait. "We talked to Kap and he said he'd put in a word for us," said Lovett. "We're just trying to get anyone's attention, to get 20 minutes to show what we can do."
Lovett played college football at the University of Idaho while Clark played at Washington State. Both attended the 49ers' local pro-day last year.
Lovett wants to make sure the 49ers know he is still waiting. "I can Ball," said Lovett via Twitter. "I can help out at Wr and the return game."
