The San Francisco 49ers lost again on Sunday, this time a 24-14 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals. They can't seem to catch a break because despite the defeat, the 49ers didn't move up in projected draft position. In fact, the opposite happened. The 49ers currently sit at the sixth overall spot in the 2016 NFL Draft order based on current record and strength of schedule (SOS). Last week, the 49ers were penciled in with the fifth overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft.

How high the team will actually select will be determined by the rest of the season and their final record. The top spot is still owned by the Tennessee Titans for the second week in a row.

Monday night's matchup between the Detroit Lions and the New Orleans Saints could have an impact on the 49ers' positioning, so fans will have to wait until after that game to see where San Francisco will land after 15 weeks of play. The Detroit Lions currently sit one spot below the 49ers at seven with a strength of schedule very close to the one owned by San Francisco.

The undefeated Carolina Panthers still hold the final overall selection based on playoff seeding. If the season ended today, they would be the number one seed in the NFC and hold the best record in the league.
