On Monday, May 11, the team announced the signing of their other nine draft selections. Armstead, who could not report to the team until today due to school obligations, was the last remaining un-signed draft selection.
The University of Oregon's class schedule runs through May and NFL rules prohibited Armstead from joining full-team sessions until June. This will make him available for the 49ers mandatory minicamp, which begins on June 9. However, he can still take part in the team's rookie minicamp which started today.
Armstead was selected by the 49ers with the 17th overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. In three seasons with the Ducks, Armstead has totaled 87 tackles (42 solo) and four sacks. In January of 2015, Armstead had nine tackles against Ohio State.
