For those of you that were holding onto the possibility of landing free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis, no matter how implausible it seemed, forget about it.
According to ESPN, Revis and the New England Patriots have reached agreement on a one-year, $12 million deal. This will be Revis' third team in three years.
With the signing, the Patriots land the best free agent available this offseason after the Denver Broncos made headlines with their defensive acquisitions.
There were no reports that the San Francisco 49ers even made an attempt to acquire Revis in a trade or once he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
