Darrelle Revis signs with 1-year deal with New England Patriots

For those of you that were holding onto the possibility of landing free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis, no matter how implausible it seemed, forget about it.

According to ESPN, Revis and the New England Patriots have reached agreement on a one-year, $12 million deal. This will be Revis' third team in three years.

With the signing, the Patriots land the best free agent available this offseason after the Denver Broncos made headlines with their defensive acquisitions.

There were no reports that the San Francisco 49ers even made an attempt to acquire Revis in a trade or once he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

New San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu could be seen on Sunday's telecast offering up some advice to Kendrick Bourne. The two had already built a relationship with each other on Instagram, and last week became teammates when Sanu signed a one-year deal with the team. Sanu didn't join the 49ers just to be a veteran mentor, though. He signed with the team to contribute on a championship
