In 2010, Cox played in 15 games for the Broncos and had 58 tackles and one interception. Cox missed all of the 2011 season.
Cox was recently acquitted of sexual assault.
49ers general manager Trent Baalke said this of the signing: "We are pleased to add Perrish to our team." Cox will be made available to the media on a conference call at 11:20 am PT according to the 49ers PR department.
When asked about Cox's personal issues, Baalke also says that he is "confident that Perrish will be a positive contributor to the 49ers, as well as our community."
