The San Francisco 49ers suffered their first loss of the season in Week 7, falling 29-20 to the Atlanta Falcons in an upset on Sunday. Results elsewhere in the NFC West only made it worse.

San Francisco entered Week 7 with a three-game lead over the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West standings. Sunday's loss would have been easier to swallow if the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had also lost. Unfortunately for the 49ers, neither team cooperated.

The Rams defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 35-21 at Allegiant Stadium. Later, the Seahawks beat the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 at Lumen Field, further tightening the NFC West race.

With the 49ers and Chiefs both losing Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings remain the NFL's lone undefeated team. Minnesota improved to 6-0 with a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The 49ers enter their bye week looking to regroup after their first defeat of the season. They return to action on November 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders at Levi's Stadium, hoping to get back on track while preventing the Seahawks and Rams from gaining more ground in the NFC West standings.
