Is San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle preparing for a career beyond football? Maybe not just yet. The All-Pro tight end remains focused on his recovery from the torn Achilles he suffered during last season's playoffs and his goal of returning for Week 1. However, Kittle is also adding a new experience to his résumé: acting.

According to Deadline, Kittle is attached to Dinosaurs of the Wild West, an eight-episode frontier series from filmmaker Luke Sparke, the creator of Primitive War. Kittle has previously shared his appreciation for the film.


This will be Kittle's acting debut—aside from commercials and some wrestling appearances.

"Kittle is due to play 'an original character in the new frontier, complete with his own dinosaur,' marking the NFL star's first on-screen acting role," Deadline's Andreas Wiseman wrote. "Joining Kittle in the series are Jesse Kove (Cobra Kai) in a villainous role, Martin Kove (Cobra Kai), and Rachel Pizzolatto (MythBusters Jr) as 'The Heiress'."

Set in an alternate version of 1879, Dinosaurs of the Wild West explores a world where humans and dinosaurs have built a civilization together. The series will follow pioneers and outlaws as they navigate a dangerous frontier filled with new challenges.

While Kittle explores his acting debut, the 49ers tight end remains one of the NFL's most productive players. Entering his 10th NFL season, Kittle has recorded 595 receptions for 8,008 yards and 52 touchdowns during his career. He was recently ranked No. 46 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2026.

Kittle will turn 33 in October, but the veteran tight end continues to remain a key part of the 49ers' offense as he works his way back from injury.
