The change comes after the interview was initially planned to be conducted virtually. With the 49ers' season now over following their Divisional Round playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the Titans will instead meet with Saleh in person.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz added that the Titans' final three candidates for their head coaching position are believed to be Saleh, Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, and Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.
Saleh just completed the first season of his second stint with the 49ers, having previously served as the team's defensive coordinator from 2017 through 2020. He was also the New York Jets' head coach from 2021 through 2024.
The 49ers finished the 2025 regular season with a 12–5 record. They eliminated the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round before their postseason run ended against the Seahawks on Saturday night.
