ESPN's Jeremy Fowler recently speculated that the 49ers might consider moving Jauan Jennings for the right offer.
"Despite nearly 1,000 yards in 2024, Jennings is off to a slower start this season, ranking fifth on the 49ers in receiving (212)," Fowler wrote. "Both sides could use a fresh start."
It's been a difficult 2025 season for Jennings, who has battled shoulder, ankle, and rib injuries while trying to regain his 2024 form. The veteran wideout had hoped to build on last year's breakout campaign before hitting free agency next offseason.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed the speculation on Wednesday, making his stance clear when asked if the 49ers might trade Jennings before the deadline.
"I'd be very surprised if Jauan wasn't on our team throughout this year," Shanahan said.
Jennings, now in his fifth NFL season, has recorded 2,150 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns over his career. He's coming off a standout 2024 season in which he posted career highs with 77 receptions for 975 yards and six touchdowns.
Shanahan's latest comments suggest the 49ers intend to keep Jennings in the fold as they push deeper into the 2025 campaign.
