Inactives:
- DE Robert Beal (ankle)
- RB Jordan James
- WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib)
- LB Nick Martin
- WR Ricky Pearsall (knee)
- QB Brock Purdy (toe)
- WR Jordan Watkins (calf)
Rookie defensive tackle C.J. West (thumb), who was listed as questionable for the game, is active. The only healthy scratches for the game are running back Jordan James and linebacker Nick Martin—also rookies.
The 49ers announced a series of roster moves just hours before their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
With quarterback Brock Purdy ruled out, the team promoted practice squad quarterback Adrian Martinez to the active roster. Martinez will serve as the backup to Mac Jones, who is set to make his third start of the season.
To clear space, the 49ers waived defensive lineman Jordan Jefferson.
San Francisco also elevated defensive lineman Trevis Gipson and wide receiver Malik Turner from the practice squad, making them eligible for tonight's game. Turner's promotion comes at a crucial time, as the 49ers will be without wide receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings.
Additionally, the team re-signed cornerback Derrick Canteen to the practice squad, filling the vacancy created by Martinez's promotion to the active roster.
