Injury Notes
Quarterback Brock Purdy was seen throwing during Friday's practice, a significant step forward after limited activity during Wednesday's session. Thursday's practice was closed to the media due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Purdy is working his way back from a shoulder injury sustained in Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that he expects Purdy to play.
"Brock wouldn't be playing if he wasn't 100% at it," Shanahan said. "So, I think the fact that he's going to be playing means he's healthy."
Meanwhile, tackle Trent Williams, defensive end Nick Bosa, guard Aaron Banks, and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir were among the players absent from Friday's practice. All four were ruled out for Sunday's game.
Shanahan noted that the 49ers aren't sure when Bosa or Williams might return.
"We understand kind of what's wrong with them," Shanahan said. "It's just kind of how it heals. And the guys, Trent especially, hasn't been healing the way we hoped. Hopefully, they got a better chance next week, but they ended up never getting back into practice this week, so ended up not being that close."
Lenoir is dealing with a deep knee bone bruise. Shanahan commented, "It's kind of like a quad contusion, but it's right on the bone. ... Tried to go all week, and just couldn't get it to go."
Cornerback Charvarius Ward did not appear on the game status report and is expected to return this weekend. He has not played since Week 8.
Below are Friday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Bills, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
