The 49ers received difficult injury news this week, as defensive tackle Javon Hargrave is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a partially torn triceps in Week 3's loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
On a more positive note, tight end George Kittle returned to practice after missing the Rams game due to a hamstring injury, though he was limited during Wednesday's session.
"George is a captain and one of the most important players on the team in terms of production, and just a morale boost from his positivity," defensive end Nick Bosa said on Wednesday. "And, yeah, just having a guy who's been around for a while, has been through the ups and downs of the [Kyle] Shanahan regime. So, yeah, we're excited [to have him back]."
There were concerns about Brock Purdy after he reported to the team on Monday with back soreness. However, an MRI revealed no significant issues, and Purdy was a full participant during Wednesday's practice.
