The survey aims to help organizations raise standards across the league. This is the second annual release of the report cards.
"Based on the feedback we received from our players last year and the positive impact it had for players on several clubs, we saw a significant growth in the response rate this year," wrote NFLPA president JC Tretter.
How did the San Francisco 49ers grade out? They ranked sixth overall among NFL teams, slightly improving over last year's seventh-ranked spot.
Below are the resulting 49ers grades and where each ranked among the 32 NFL teams.
- Treatment of Families: A- (2nd)
- Food/Cafeteria: A- (3rd)
- Nutritionist/Dietician: B+ (8th)
- Locker Room: B+ (7th)
- Training Room: C (24th)
- Training Staff: B- (21st)
- Weight Room: B+ (11th)
- Strength Coaches: B+ (16th)
- Team Travel: C+ (13th)
- Head Coach: A (7th)
- Ownership: A- (10th)
While areas like treatment of families and nutrition have improved since last year's grades were issued, other areas, like the training staff, earned slightly lower marks. The most glaring score drop was in the area of travel, falling from an A- following the 2022 season to a C+ this past season.
"The positives for the team start at the top of the organization, with the players giving high marks to the club ownership group and CEO Jed York along with head coach Kyle Shanahan," stated the report.
As for the training room, players reported it to be "small with a limited number of treatment tables," adding that the hot/cold tubs are small, making them uncomfortable.
The Miami Dolphins earned the players' highest grades, while the Washington Commanders earned the lowest.
