The 49ers opened the practice window for wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud, the team's top returner on special teams. McCloud has been on the injured reserve list since December 9 due to a rib injury.
Also returning to practice was wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who has been in the concussion protocol since sustaining the injury on December 17. Another player attempting to return from a concussion, tackle Jaylon Moore, also practiced. Both were limited participants.
San Francisco is being cautious with star running back Christian McCaffrey, who sustained a minor calf strain on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. He was among several players who did not practice.
Safety Tashaun Gipson and guard Jon Feliciano were new additions to the injury list. Regarding Gipson, head coach Kyle Shanahan stated the recovery "could be anywhere seven to 10 days," making him unavailable for this weekend's game.
Regarding Feliciano's status, Shanahan said, "New thing came up, but we feel pretty good about it, so we'll just see how the week goes out."
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
