Inactives:
- QB Brandon Allen
- RB Tyrion Davis-Price
- DL Kalia Davis
- LB Jalen Graham
- WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder)
- T Trent Williams (ankle)
- TE Brayden Willis
On Saturday, the 49ers ruled out Samuel against the Vikings. He is also expected to miss the next game against the Cincinnati Bengals but could return against the Jacksonville Jaguars after the bye week.
The team listed one player, Williams, as doubtful. The Niners listed two players, linebacker Dre Greenlaw (hamstring) and running back Christian McCaffrey (oblique), as questionable. Greenlaw and McCaffrey are active.
Williams sustained an ankle injury early in the Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns.
San Francisco promoted two players (standard elevations) before tonight's contest. They are wide receiver Chris Conley and cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles. It is the second call-up to the active roster for Conley and the third for Jean-Charles.
Conley's elevation makes sense, particularly with wide receiver Deebo Samuel expected to miss at least the next two games due to a hairline fracture in his shoulder. The 49ers are hopeful for Samuel's return when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 12, following the bye week.
McCaffrey is active for tonight's matchup despite grappling with a "slight" oblique tear all week. He did not participate in Thursday or Friday practices but saw limited action on Saturday.
When asked about the significance of being on the field with his teammates for tonight's game, McCaffrey said, "That's a huge deal. Yeah, it's what you signed up to do, so if you can go, you've got to go."
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that McCaffrey "had like a team of people working on him all week long, like [physical] therapists, working on him around the clock."
The Vikings' inactive players are listed below.
