This will be the third consecutive practice that Samuel has missed. The star receiver did not practice during a Monday bonus session or participate on Wednesday.
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw (ankle) returned to practice. Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) is out of his blue no-contact jersey. Like Samuel, wide receiver Jauan Jennings (shin) headed to the weight room after the team's walk-through.
Later, Jennings was seen on a side field working alongside wide receiver Danny Gray, who is currently on injured reserve due to an SC joint sprain.
Reporters are not allowed to observe practice once team drills begin. The 49ers will release an official practice participation report after the Thursday session.
San Francisco (3-0) will hold one more practice, a Friday session scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PT, before hosting the Arizona Cardinals (1-2) at Levi's Stadium on Sunday. The 49ers are currently 14-point favorites in the Week 4 matchup.
