The Los Angeles Chargers beat the San Francisco 49ers 23-12 in the team's third and final preseason game. Today, Pro Football Focus released its grades from the game. Which Niners played well, and who has more work to do?

Sam Darnold was the highest-graded quarterback for either team, earning a 68.9 overall grade. Still, it was his lowest mark of the preseason. Darnold finished the game 6-of-11 for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Brandon Allen was second among the 49ers quarterbacks, earning a 59.8 overall grade. He finished just 2-of-6 for 23 yards and an interception.

Surprisingly, starter Brock Purdy was the lowest graded of any quarterback in the game, finishing with a 50.6 overall grade, his lowest of the preseason. Purdy finished the game 5-of-9 for 73 yards, adding five rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.



Linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles earned the game's highest overall grade, albeit in only 12 snaps. Pro Football Focus credited him with a pressure and a sack, while official league stats credited him with 0.5 sacks (PFF doesn't credit shared sacks). The analytics site had Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles earning two tackles and three stops. The linebacker was targeted once, allowing minus-five yards.

Some good news along the 49ers offensive line: Jaylon Moore earned his highest preseason grade at the left tackle spot. His run-blocking grade of 85.4 and pass-blocking grade of 85.9 were both team highs.

The second-highest grade along the offensive line came from Moore's opposite side, with Matt Pryor at right tackle. The 49ers offensive line did not allow a sack in the game and allowed only two pressures.

Rookie cornerback D'Shawn Jamison earned his highest overall and run-defense grades of the preseason, allowing only one reception for eight yards on two targets. He was also credited with a pass breakup.
