Ahead of the team's home bout against the Los Angeles Chargers, the 49ers received bad news as kicker Jake Moody was ruled out with a right quad strain.
Well, the injuries have continued, as the 49ers are also missing kicker Zane Gonzalez, as well as cornerback A.J. Parker and wideout Chris Conley, who were all ruled out earlier in the game.
The injury bug isn't done for the 49ers in the preseason, however, as safety Tayler Hawkins has been ruled out with a hand injury, ending his preseason.
Hawkins, initially working only with the third-team defense, has impressed at times, which has earned him more reps, but did struggle a little with a significant whiff in the run game on Friday prior to his injury.
Hawkins is currently vying for a roster spot at safety, but faces an uphill battle, with incumbents Talanoa Hufanga, Tashaun Gipson, and George Odum returning, while Ji'Ayir Brown was a third-round selection in 2023.
Stay tuned for other injury updates!
