"Yes, it was a very bright spot of the week," head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Monday afternoon on a conference call. "Usually, it's the number one goal in those preseason games. So, yeah, we didn't lose anybody in that game."
Shanahan did provide updates on several other pre-existing injuries, though. The 49ers are hoping to get the following players back at practice this week:
- DE Robert Beal
- DT Kalia Davis
- WR Danny Gray
- LB Dre Greenlaw
- DE Drake Jackson
- RB Elijah Mitchell
"We'll see how it goes," Shanahan noted.
The 49ers hope tight end George Kittle (adductor) can return next week.
Shanahan said Gray has been dealing with a tight abductor and hip since before the team traveled to the Las Vegas area last week.
The coach listed the following names of players who aren't expected to return during the preseason, but could for Week 1 of the regular season:
- S George Odum
- LB Oren Burks
Odum is dealing with a left SC sprain.
"We're hoping he can get back in a blue jersey this week so he can practice a little," Shanahan added. "But we've just got to keep the contact off him until Week 1."
Shanahan also named Ray-Ray McCloud on that list but noted that's just where the team categorized him. Nothing has changed when it comes to his recovery timeline. The wide receiver and returner underwent surgery on a broken wrist last week. While Shanahan sees his Week 1 return as a long shot, McCloud has told his coach not to count him out.
Burks was a new name on the list of injuries. Shanahan said the linebacker suffered a PCL strain on the collision with Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams during joint practice last week.
