While participating in Saturday's Pro Bowl games, Williams was asked if he'll be back next season.
"Yeah, for sure," Williams responded, per Grant Gordon of NFL Media. "Next year, the year after. I'm under contract until I'm 39 [years old]."
When asked about his January 31 comments that led to speculation that the two-time first-team All-Pro and 10-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman might be thinking about ending his Hall of Fame-worthy career, the 34-year-old player joked that there may have been some confusion.
"I think I didn't understand the question," Williams said in jest.
This is comforting news for 49ers fans worried that the best offensive lineman in the game might not be around in 2023. Williams plans to be back.
