The New York Giants set the stage for the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs by beating the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Being the lowest-seeded team remaining, they advanced to face the top-seeded Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday.
That left the 49ers to host the Monday night game-winner between the Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dallas came away with the 31-14 win in that matchup.
Sunday's game between the 49ers and Cowboys is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. PT.
San Francisco won its last meeting with the Cowboys, a 23-17 victory in the Wild Card Round of last season's playoffs. Last week, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was asked if last season's playoff loss remains on players' minds and if they use it as motivation.
"Damn right. Damn right," Prescott responded.
The 49ers are 18-19-1 all-time against the Cowboys.
Should the Niners advance, the NFC Championship Game is scheduled for Sunday, January 29, with a 3:00 p.m. PT kickoff. That game will be played either at Levi's Stadium or Lincoln Financial Field, depending on the outcome of this weekend's games.
