Jordan Matthews' season has come to an end. The San Francisco 49ers tight end suffered a torn ACL during Monday's practice, per Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group, and will land on injured reserve.

It's devastating news for Matthews, who was having a solid training camp. Earlier today, the tight end was seen on crutches at the team's facility in Santa Clara.

Matthews (6-3, 215) was a long-time NFL wide receiver who converted to tight end last year. The Philadelphia Eagles made him a second-round selection (No. 42 overall) out of Vanderbilt in 2014.

Matthews, 30, appeared in one game with the 49ers last season but did not register a reception. Per Pro Football Reference, he has caught 274 passes for 3,288 yards and 22 touchdowns in 76 game appearances (46 starts) through his eight NFL seasons with the Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and 49ers.
