San Francisco 49ers fans await Deebo Samuel contract news. The wide receiver generated a lot of offseason chatter by expressing his displeasure regarding his contract status, leading to a trade request. The 49ers, intent on keeping their most dynamic offensive weapon, didn't entertain offers.

Samuel is back in the Bay Area, which could be viewed as a positive when it comes to the 49ers reconciling their relationship with the star player and locking him into a long-term deal. Samuel's teammate, linebacker Fred Warner, recently expressed confidence that a deal would get done soon.

"I know there's a lot of time left, and the thing I can say about Deebo is he's an amazing player, as well as a teammate," Warner said on the Rich Eisen Show. "That's my guy, so I know he'll get whatever he deserves. And I know, in good time, things will work themselves out."

Samuel had a breakout season in 2021, recording 1,770 all-purpose yards and 14 total touchdowns. The 49ers made him a second-round pick in 2019.
