ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Dolphins are giving Mostert a one-year deal worth $3.125 million.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Mostert (5-10, 205) as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue in 2015. He carried the football two times for 20 yards during Week 1 this past season before suffering a season-ending knee injury, landing on injured reserve.
Mostert, 29, has 1,610 rushing yards on 284 attempts with 11 rushing touchdowns in 59 game appearances (nine starts) through his seven NFL seasons with the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, and 49ers.
Mostert's best season as a running back came in 2019 when he recorded 772 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 137 carries through 16 games. He added 14 receptions for 180 yards and two receiving touchdowns that season.
The 49ers host the Dolphins at Levi's Stadium in 2022.
With Trenton Cannon headed to the Tennessee Titans and Jeff Wilson Jr. being a free agent, the running backs under contract with San Francisco are Elijah Mitchell, Trey Sermon, and JaMycal Hasty.
