Linebacker Dre Greenlaw returned to practice. He has been inactive for the past four games. Greenlaw has appeared in just two games (Week 1, 12) this season.
Of course, the big storyline is at quarterback. Starter Jimmy Garoppolo missed his third consecutive practice of the week, leaving rookie Trey Lance to once again lead the offense in practice. Garoppolo is dealing with a thumb injury, and may have to miss Sunday's game.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Texans, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
