49ers-Texans Injury Report: Still no Jimmy Garoppolo; Dre Greenlaw practices

Dec 30, 2021 at 4:13 PM--

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 17 contest against the Houston Texans on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw returned to practice. He has been inactive for the past four games. Greenlaw has appeared in just two games (Week 1, 12) this season.

The San Francisco 49ers underwent an impressive turnaround this season. Many left them for dead, especially following an embarrassing November 7, 2021 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, who were missing several starters. Some joked that the Cardinals' practice squad had knocked off the Niners, and just like that, San Francisco was 3-5. After that, the 49ers went 7-2, clinching a playoff berth in the final regular-season game against the Los Angeles Rams. The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers probably regret the Rams not being able to eliminate the 49ers. Both were knocked out of the postseason by Kyle Shanahan's squad. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw was part of that last matchup against the Rams. Before that, he had to watch much of the season from the outside, unable to

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Divisional playoff contest against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This week, it was revealed that Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a right shoulder sprain in Sunday's win against the Dallas Cowboys. The quarterback was already dealing with a right thumb injury. All signs point to him still starting in Saturday's game. A rare Levi's practice under the lights for the 49ers. It's a little cool outside … but it will be 40 degrees cooler on Saturday.

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Divisional playoff contest against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Defensive end Nick Bosa remains in the concussion protocol, and being cleared will be a challenge due to the short week of preparation. The good news is that he returned to practice on Wednesday. Although, he was listed as a "limited" participant. Bosa was on the field with his teammates for the pre-practice walkthrough but headed to the locker room before practice started. Excellent sign as

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters via a conference call on Monday, one day after the team's 23-17 playoff victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Shanahan provided several injury updates. The Niners are preparing to travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to play the Packers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Saturday. The two most significant known injuries were to defensive end Nick Bosa and linebacker Fred Warner. Both left the game and did not return. Shanahan also revealed that his starting quarterback suffered an in-game injury. QB Jimmy Garoppolo Garoppolo suffered a shoulder sprain but should be able to practice this week.
