Head coach Kyle Shanahan expected Jimmie Ward to return to the practice field today, and that's what happened. The veteran safety suffered a quad injury on October 31 against the Chicago Bears, missing this past weekend's game against the Arizona Cardinals.
It's worth noting that offensive lineman Tom Compton missed practice due to a personal matter. That means rookie Jaylon Moore likely got the reps at right tackle in place of Mike McGlinchey, who is out for the season. Moore could be the frontrunner to replace McGlinchey for the remainder of the season.
Below are Friday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
