The three-time first-team All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowl selection could land on injured reserve due to a foot injury. That would force Mack to miss a minimum of three games and four weeks (because of the Bears' bye), likely starting with this weekend's matchup against the visiting 49ers.
Meanwhile, Bears coach Matt Nagy says no decision on Mack's status has been reached.
Mack, 30, has recorded 19 tackles, six tackles for a loss, seven quarterback hits, and six sacks through seven games this season, per Pro Football Reference.
Oddsmakers currently have San Francisco favored by 3.5 points over Chicago. The two teams kick off from Soldier Field on Sunday at noon CT (10 a.m. PT).
