Jimmy Garoppolo is attempting to return from a calf injury. This afternoon, head coach Kyle Shanahan said he is optimistic that his starting quarterback will be available on Sunday. However, he was less confident about backup Trey Lance's chances of being suited up against the Colts. He remains sidelined due to a knee sprain.
"We were hoping he could go this week," Shanahan said of Lance. "It doesn't look like it. He might have a chance at the end of the week, but I'd be surprised if he's not ready to go until next week."
The 49ers are still trying to manage defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw's knee injury, and are being cautious with offensive tackle Trent Williams.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Colts, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
