On Saturday, the 49ers promoted wide receiver Travis Benjamin from the practice squad to the active roster. The team also activated tight end Tanner Hudson and quarterback Nate Sudfeld from the practice squad. Both will revert back to the practice squad after the game. Sudfeld will serve as Trey Lance's backup. Lance is starting his first NFL game in place of an injured Jimmy Garoppolo (calf).
San Francisco will also be without tight end George Kittle, who was placed on injured reserve this weekend due to a calf injury. Cornerback K'Waun Williams is also dealing with a calf injury and was never expected to return before the bye week.
Kickoff for today's game is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT from State Farm Stadium.
