The San Francisco 49ers are signing kicker Joey Slye, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. He will replace Robbie Gould, who is expected to miss three to five weeks due to a groin injury. Slye is one of several kickers who worked out for the 49ers this morning.

The New York Giants signed Slye (5-11, 213) as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech in 2018. He made four-of-five field goal attempts and seven-of-eight extra-point attempts through three games with the Houston Texans this season before being waived on September 30.

Slye, 25, has made 58-of-73 field goal attempts (79.5 percent) in 35 game appearances through his three NFL seasons, which included a two-year stint (2019-20) with the Carolina Panthers.
