Update: The complete schedule has been released and can be found here.
The San Francisco 49ers will meet each NFC West team twice, as they do each year. The team will also face the entire NFC North and AFC South divisions and this past season's last-place opponents from the NFC South and NFC East — the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles.
This is the first season that will feature an added 17th game for each team. The extra game will always be an inter-conference matchup based on each team's finish from the previous season. Each conference will take turns hosting the extra game, with the AFC hosting this year. The upcoming season will feature each NFC West team facing the AFC North opponent that finished last season with the same division ranking. Both the 49ers and the Cincinnati Bengals finished in last place within their respective divisions.
NFL Kickoff Weekend will begin on Thursday, September 9. The last regular-season games will be played on Sunday, January 9.
