That once again leaves the Houston Texans as the only team with a head-coaching vacancy that has not requested to interview Saleh. The coach has met virtually with the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, and New York Jets. The Jets are flying Saleh out for a second interview and first in-person interview today.
The Eagles fired their Super Bowl-winning head coach, Doug Pederson, on Monday. He spent five seasons with the team.
Josina Anderson reports that Saleh could fly to Florida, after his trip to the New York area, to meet with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie at his home.
The 49ers would receive compensatory third-round picks in 2021 and 2022, should Saleh be hired as a head coach. That is due to a recent measure rewarding the development of minority coaches and front-office executives.
