Daniel Helm has cleared waivers, and the San Francisco 49ers announced that the team has signed the tight end to the practice squad. The Niners waived him on Tuesday.

Helm (6-4, 225) entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers on May 10, 2019. The Chargers waived him on August 1, 2019.

The 49ers initially claimed Helm on August 2, 2019. He was later waived and then signed to the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster on December 12, 2019.

Helm spent part of training camp this year with the 49ers, was waived on August 15, and claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Chiefs the next day. The Chiefs waived Helm on September 5, and he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad on September 23.

San Francisco signed Helm to a one-year deal off the Buccaneers practice squad on September 30.
